| Forever Free
I see a field of green with rolling hills and magnificent trees scattered about
and bright blue skies with white puffy clouds spotted here and there.
With Peanuts by my side, looking up at me with those
loving beautiful brown eyes,I slowly unhitch his leash and take off his collar.
I tell him I love him and with a gentle pat, I urge him on:
“run boy run, as fast and as free as you can go.”
With much pain and sorrow, I watch him go through the fields of green
and over the hills.
No more pain for him now, just the pure joy of running forever free.
