| Greyhound Adoption of Greater Rochester, NY is dedicated to matching the right greyhound with the right family. We prefer to select a greyhound for a family based on a family profile that is sent to one of the tracks that supply greyhounds to us. The kennel workers at the track know their dogs and are able to select dogs that are child friendly (we adopt to homes with children 5 and older) and cat friendly for those families that consist of children over five and cats or other small animals. They can also pass along to us personality and energy level traits that help us to make a good match. We want both our adoptive families and our greyhounds to get off to the best possible start. Occasionally, we have dogs that are immediately available like the ones that appear on this page. Our adoption fee is $250 which includes: spay/neuter, dental cleaning, up to date shots, new martingale collar and matching lead and the "Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummie", book. If you are interested in adopting a greyhound from us, go to the Forms section, download the Adoption Application and send it in or email us through the Contact Us link
Frankie & Oscar need a home!

Frankie & Oscar - Five year old greyhounds from an accidental breeding. No
Tattoos. They have been well loved and cared for but their owner can no longer care for them. The adoption fee will be waived for an approved adopter.
Both of these dogs were accidental breedings and have no tattoos or contracts. They both came from CT. Frankie was first given to a woman who gave her up at 4 1/2 mos for behavioral reasons and then she got another, Oscar, that she gave up for the same reason at 6 mos. Their behavior has much improved and they each have their own good and
well lets call it annoying qualities. Frankie is a charming female who loves to hike and play in the baby pool and has matrix abilities around the counter if not watched. She will respond to a correction and has had obedience and has her canine good citizen. Oscar as well as his counterpart can often be found lounging across the back the sofa, he also loves to spoon. He can be a shy boy and needs a few moments to evaluate the situation. Once he's cool you're in and that greyhound lean and it its all over. He too loves to hike and loves to make snow angels.
